Henry Middle School follows Standard Based Grading.
SBG represents progress and consistency toward mastery of each Essential Outcome (EO), not academic behaviors such as task completion, punctuality, extra credit, or assignment compliance.
What this means:
A student's grade on each topic (Essential Outcome) is based on their progress- consistent progress.
Students will have at least 2 attempts to do their best on each topic (EO) and every 6 weeks grading period will have at least 2 EOs.
An attempt can be anything we do in class- a paragraph, project, quiz, class discussion, assessment, essay.
If a student is not mastering and needs more support, Power Hour tutorials can help bridge those gaps for success.
An example of an EO will look like : Perspectives during the Texas Revolution
Comparing geographic regions of Texas
The students will be learning the History of Texas while learning how to be historians and not AI or google masters.
