Welcome! I'm Mr. Henderson, and I'm excited to be teaching ESL this year here at the Ridge. With 12 years of teaching experience and an international master's degree, I've spent my career helping students build skills, knowledge, and confidence all over the world. Having taught in China, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and the US, I know firsthand how challenging and rewarding it is to navigate a new language and a new place. My own family recently made an international move to the Austin area, so the experience of adapting to unfamiliar surroundings, customs, and communication is something we're living through together at home, not just something I teach.

Beyond the classroom, I bring a genuine love of learning to everything I do. I'm an avid reader of history and classical literature, and I've traveled and lived abroad, which has given me a deep appreciation for different cultures. That same drive and curiosity is what I hope to instill in every student who walks through my door.

I believe language learning happens best in a classroom built on patience, encouragement, and genuine relationships. Whether you're just beginning your English language journey or building on skills you already have, I'm committed to creating a supportive space where you feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and growing. I'm looking forward to a great year and to getting to know each of you and your families.
