Dear Parents & Students,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I’m so excited to have each of you in our class and to begin this journey of learning, growth, and discovery together. This year will be filled with new challenges, fresh ideas, and plenty of opportunities for you to shine.

A little about me:   I earned my Bachelors degree in Geology in 1995 (yes that's in the 1900's!)  and my Master's degree in Education from The University of Texas at Austin in 2005, and I’ve spent the last 25 years working in Athletics, Administration and teaching every subject under the sun. I’m passionate about just about anything Science or Math related and I can’t wait to share that enthusiasm with you.

In my Science classroom, we’ll explore Matter, Force and Motion, and Environmental systems.  In Math, we will discover mathematical processes to acquire and demonstrate mathematical understanding.  I aim to create a space where everyone feels comfortable, curious, and inspired. I believe learning should be both challenging and fun, so get ready for some engaging activities and discussions!

Outside of school, I enjoy reading and playing sports with my family, which often finds its way into our lessons in unexpected ways. I’m always happy to chat about Soccer (my absolute favorite sport), so feel free to share your interests with me too!

In our classroom, we believe in kindness, respect, and curiosity. We will ask questions, make mistakes, learn from them, and celebrate progress—no matter how small. Every voice matters here, and yours is an important part of our community.

I want you to know that I believe in you. You are capable of great things, and I am here to support you every step of the way. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can take risks in your learning, think deeply, and be proud of the effort you put into everything you do.
