About Me

Hello! I am Mrs. Pangilinan or Mrs. P. At home I answer to "Mom".

I graduated from UTSA in 1993 with a B.S. in Mathematics with an emphasis in Education.

I started my teaching career in 1994 - 1995 in San Antonio Texas at Eisenhower Middle School. I taught middle school math for 7 years, then had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom. When my youngest started kindergarten I returned to the classroom at Westside Elementary. After spending 5 years there I decided to move back to middle school, and I'm blessed to be starting my 5th year here at HMS and my 17th year as a teacher.

When I'm at home I stay busy with my family. I've been married for 17 years to my husband Jimmy and we have two children. My daughter, Riley, is a junior at CPHS and my son, Jude, is a freshman. Riley and Jude are both in the band at CPHS. Riley is a percussionist and Jude plays euphonium. Between the two instruments and my three dogs, my house is never quiet!

In the classroom I treat all students the way I want my own children to be treated. I hold the students to a high standard and support them and promise to always treat them with respect. Your child's education is important to me! Please contact me any time with questions or concerns. The easiest way to get in touch with me is through email (joanna.pangilinan@leanderisd.org). I will reply as soon as possible, but always within 24 hours. You can also call me at 512-570-3400 ext. 43410. Please leave me a detailed message and I will return your call before school, during my conference period, or after school.
