Amanda Ransom was born and raised in Temple, Texas and has been in choir as long as she can remember. Mrs. Ransom attended Temple High School where she was heavily involved in both choir and theatre.
Mrs. Ransom received her bachelor's degree in Choral Music Education from the University of North Texas in May 2008. While at UNT she performed in both Concert Choir and A Cappella Choir
Mrs. Ransom joined the Henry Middle School family in 2008 as the assistant choir director. She became the head director in 2012. Under Mrs. Ransom's direction choirs have achieved Sweepstakes rating at UIL and many students are selected for the All Region Choir.
Mrs. Ransom's choirs have been recognized on the state and national level.
In her spare time, Mrs. Ransom enjoys spending time with her husband, 13 year old daughter Charlotte, 8 year old son Michael, 4 year old Eleanor.

Jen Hart
Assistant Choir Director

Jen Hart was born and raised in Pflugerville, Texas and started singing in choirs with her parents at a very young age. When Mrs. Hart was a student at Pflugerville High School, she became fully committed to music and theater performance while competing in several different varsity level sports.
Mrs. Hart received her bachelor's degree in Choral Music Education and certificate in Vocal Performance from the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2013. While at UT she performed in the University Chorale, worked as a student director and choreographer of the Longhorn Singers, and was Social Chair for the Fine Arts Society. After college, Mrs. Hart performed in many different music groups, touring internationally as a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus’ select Chamber Acapella Ensemble.
Mrs. Hart began her teaching career in 2013 as an Elementary Music Teacher in Eanes ISD. She became a secondary Choir Director when her family moved to Houston in 2016 and she has been honored to work with award-winning choral programs in both the Houston and Austin areas since then. With her assistance, her students have achieved consistent Sweepstakes rating at UIL and have been recognized as honored choirs at the state and national levels.
When she is not in the Choir Room, Mrs. Hart loves to travel, work in her garden and spend time with her friends. She has an incredible husband (who is also a Choir Director), two daughters, Emma and Ruby, and an adorable dachshund named Lucy.
