Parent Communication

We strive for as much communication as possible on this team.  Feel free to contact us anytime.  Email is the best way to reach us and get the quickest response.  If you would like to set up a in person or virtual meeting with the team, please email our team leader, Emma Hallford.  Our team conference time is Tuesdays or Thursdays from 9:56 - 10:43 am.

Supplies

6th graders will not be using lockers and will be carrying supplies with them from class to class. Please keep in mind that backpacks that are overpacked can get heavy. Please check the backpacks at least one time a week.

Attendance

It is important for students to be on time to school.  Students should be in their 1st period class by the tardy bell at 9:05.  Having good attendance is also very important.  When a student misses school, he/she can get behind quickly.  Students who have been absent must communicate with each individual teacher to obtain missed work and/or schedule a time for missed instruction.  You may also look at the teacher websites/google classroom for missed assignments and to see what topic was discussed and taught.  If your child is going to be absent for a prolonged amount of time (more than two days), please contact the attendance office and  teachers. Please contact the attendance office (blanca.cole@leanderisd.org) for any prearranged absences.

GOOD ATTENDANCE = LESS STRESS AND MORE SUCCESS!

Laptop Expectations

Laptops are an important tool for learning and should enhance, not hinder, the flow of class. Students have received a lesson on laptop etiquette and appropriate use. Please reinforce at home that we will take misuse of laptops very seriously, as it disrupts both their learning and that of their classmates.

Beverages

As a team, we do not allow canned drinks in our classrooms. Please send your student with a water bottle that seals properly.

Toys and Distractions

Please limit toys being brought to school (Needohs, slime, bracelets/beads, etc.). These items become distractions in the classroom and take focus away from learning. Toys are not allowed in any of our classrooms.
