Hello! My name is Ashley Heninger. I am excited to be your 7th Grade math extension teacher this year! This is my 14th year teaching and I am so excited to be at LMS. Middle schoolers are my favorite! I have 3 kids - Quinn, Bennett, and Emerson and I'm married to my high school sweet heart Jason. 

I decided I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up when I was in 3rd grade and took every opportunity to work with kids from that age forward. I graduated from Southern Utah University (SUU) in 2010. Since then I have lived in Boston and California where I first taught elementary school. I quickly fell in love with middle schoolers teaching science and math for several years, but ultimately followed my passion teaching math. This is my third year in Texas and at LMS and couldn't be happier.

My goal when teaching math is to help guide students along their math journey to find to success and enjoyment for math. Reducing the fear and misunderstanding around math to break down those barriers and build strong foundational skills is one of my goals. Forming strong relationships and community in my classroom is super important.
