2025-2026
2025-2026
Hey Henry!
Welcome to 6th Grade! My name is Emma Hallford and I am delighted to be your science teacher. We have tons of engaging lessons planned for the 2025-2026 school year.
About me
I graduated from Texas A&M University with an Undergraduate Degree in 4-8 Math/Science Education with a minor in Psychology. This is my third year at Henry teaching 6th grade science.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family, walking, hiking, yoga, reading, and traveling!
I believe that every student has the potential to succeed and grow, and I am committed to helping each of them reach their full potential.
Class Vision
This year, we’ll explore exciting science topics including energy, plate tectonics, sound, taxonomy, and my personal favorite—cells & systems. Using OpenSciEd, we’ll investigate each of these areas in depth, beginning with our first unit: Thermal Energy.
My teaching style is student-centered, allowing you to actively participate in this science classroom. My teaching philosophy centers around creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment where students feel excited about discovering the world around them. My goal this year is to inspire my students to ask questions, think critically, and explore the wonders of science.
I look forward to seeing where this year takes us!
