Hi! My favorite part of being a teacher is the relationships I build with my students each year. I'm fortunate to teach freshmen and get to see them for 3 more years on campus before graduation. I can't wait to get to know my incoming freshmen and their parents and have fun learning geography together!
This marks my 15th year teaching at Vandegrift High School! I'm proud to have been at the same campus and part of the same community for my entire teaching career.
I grew up on a farm in Snook, Texas and my entire family still lives there. I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos and majored in Geography. Then I was blessed to be offered a teaching position at Vandegrift and moved to Austin!
My husband and I were married in 2020 on Zoom. He works at 3M and we were working right beside each other for 10 years but did not meet until 2018!
What I love
Gardening, Cooking, My Jeep, Road Trips, Oreos, Bird Watching, Geology, Whales, My Chacos, Walking, Drinking Tea, Rivers, Bears, Reality TV, Hiking, Winnie the Pooh, Taking Sunset Pics, Rainbows, Trees, Dairy Queen Dipped Cones, my backyard squirrel "Butters", my Boston Terrier "Rosie"
Where I've Been
You can't teach geography and not want to see the world, and our great state! Here are a few of my favorite places I've been fortunate to visit...
