My name is Mrs. Duncan, and I have been a member of the VRHS family for 21 years!
I teach AVID, World History AP and European History AP. I am one of the 2 teachers on the AVID underclassman track, so I focus on 9th and 10th graders. I have taught World History AP for 21 years, and even grade AP World History essays over the summer for the past 16 years, a table leader for the past 7 years and an early table leader for the past 5 years. Fifteen years ago, I started teaching AP European History to sophomores, juniors and seniors, giving me the distinction of teaching ALL grade levels in high school :-)
In my spare time, I volunteer for the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, read, cook and am also a football mom. I have 2 sons - Connor, 22, and Zach, 17, a senior at VRHS. I've been married for 28 years and have a healthy, but tense rivalry between my Aggie husband and my LSU Tiger self.
I LOVE Louisiana State University! My father was a professor there, so I grew up on campus. I bleed purple and gold, and I may be cranky the day after we play Bama. I graduated in 1998 with a degree in Journalism, and wrote for the Bryan-College Station Eagle for 4 years before realizing my heart was with teaching. Love football (especially LSU) and all other sports. You may find me at an Texas Stars Hockey game during the year!
