I grew up in a tiny West Texas town called Haskell with 30 people in my graduating class. From there, I ventured to Waco and earned my bachlor's degree in English with a minor in Education from Baylor University. Still thirsting for knowledge, I pursued my masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a minor in Sociolingusitics from The University of Texas. I have worked in schools all over the Austin area for the past 20 years and am proud to have served at Leander ISD for 10 of those years.
I am on the directing board for the Heart of Texas Writing Project; a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the writing experiences of students through the expertise of teachers.
My husband, Sean, and I have two kids that both attend LISD schools. Ellie is in 9th grade at Rouse and Grayson is in 6th at Wiley.
