JOIN THE SQUAD

The cheer squad is only open to 7th and 8th grade SMS students. 

It is currently too late to join the 2025-2026 SMS cheer squad. If you are interested in joining the 2026-2027 cheer squad, please see the list of MANDATORY dates below. More details will be posted in January. 

Students, please join the Google Classroom for more information: code will be posted in January.

MANDATORY Parent Meeting: 

• March 3, 2026 

• 6:00-7:00 pm in the SMS cafeteria

Paperwork Due:

• March 23, 2026 by 4:20pm

• Registration packet will be posted in January.

• Physical must be turned in by March 23, 2026

MANDATORY Evaluation/Tryouts: 

Candidates must attend all 3 dates listed below. 

• March 25 - 4:30 to 6:30 pm

• March 26 - 4:30 to 6:30 pm

• March 27 - 4:30 to end (end time will depend on number of candidates trying out)

You must have a current physical on file in order to try out. 

MANDATORY Uniform Fitting:

• Date TBA

• Your cheerleader will be assigned a time slot. Only cheerleaders are required to attend. 

MANDATORY Summer Camp: 

• July 13-17, 2026

• 8:00-5:00 pm every day

• Cheerleaders who do not attend summer camp cannot join the squad. 

MANDATORY Spartan Camp:

• Last week of July (2 days, exact dates TBA)

• Location: Stiles Middle School

You will not be eligible to join the 2026-2027 SMS Cheer Squad if you do not attend all of the dates listed above.
