Course Description

There are two main goals in Art Class:

-          Learn how to use the  creative process to create original art.

-          Develop skills with a variety of media (art materials) and processes.

Weeks 1 - 6 

• Learn how to use a variety of media and processes, including drawing and painting with various materials, collage, 3D construction/sculpture and clay.

• Keep a visual journal to record new learning. 

Weeks 7- 12

• Introduction of digital techniques such as animation and design software, as well as sewing and other fiber arts. Work with themes to create original art. 

• Apply your knowledge of the creative process and media/ technique to develop and create. 

• Keep a visual journal to record your artistic process. 

Weeks 13 - 16

• Find inspiration and create a collection of self-directed artwork that shows your knowledge and skill with media/process.

• Create a digital portfolio that provides evidence of growth and learning.
