FPMS Veterans

Four Points Middle School is looking to make Veterans Day a whole new experience for our school community. Students attend school to get a first class education, and that doesn't stop with the instruction that occurs during their classes. It also occurs in the activities they join, the electives they choose, and the friends they make. As such, we are wanting to make Veterans Day another one of those learning opportunities, by helping the students gain an appreciation of service, selflessness and sacrifice. What better way, than by showing them examples of what those traits look like.

Here is how we are wanting to accomplish this:

• Creating a Hall of Heroes that will highlight all of the people in our lives who have served our country. We will display their pictures as well as information for students to look at as they enter school on Monday. You will find the form to include your veteran in the "Hall of Heroes" tab.
• Starting the first ever FPMS Veterans Celebration Discussion during our Flight Time period. Our goal is to invite any veteran in our community to join us during our Flight Time to share about their experiences, answer questions and most of all tell us what it meant for them to serve. It is a great opportunity to have living examples of service, selflessness and sacrifice for the students to learn from. If you or a veteran you know would be interested in joining us, you will find a google form to sign up under the "Veterans Day Discussion" tab.

We will also have a video that will be played for students during the day, and we will play Taps to conclude our day, in order to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
