Hello! My name is Haley Hollingsworth, and I am so excited to be the director for the Majestics Dance Team at Four Points Middle School for year 3! It is an honor to work for Leander ISD and I cant wait for this amazing year!
I am originally from Grapevine, Texas where I attended Colleyville Heritage High School. Throughout high school I was a member of the Premiere Panteras Dance Team and served as first lieutenant, as well as being a competitive studio dancer for 15 years. I trained in many styles of dance over those years including: ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, kick, and pom. I am so excited to share all my knowledge on the history of dance while building these dancers technical skills and helping them find a personal style that makes them feel confident as young artists.
After high school I moved to Austin to become a fine arts major at the University of Texas at Austin, and later graduated with a degree in Dance and K-12 Dance Education. During my time at UT, I was a dancer for the University of Texas Pom Squad, the official dance team of UT athletics. I was also a part of Dance Action, a student run organization displaying student choreographed dance works. In addition to studying dance in college, I have been teaching at various studios, as well as a guest choreographer for middle and high school drill teams in the DFW and Austin area for over four years.
My three classroom core values are community, belonging, and growth of students as artists and as people. I plan to implement these values throughout this upcoming season as Majestics Director, and I look forward to all the fun memories and experiences that are ahead!
