Katie O'Rear is an “all but dissertation” doctoral candidate in vocal performance at the University of Memphis. She holds a Bachelor's degree in music education and a Master’s degree in vocal performance from Bowling Green State University. She has acquired French language certificates from l’Institut de Touraine and German language certificates from Universität Salzburg. 

Mrs. O’Rear has over 20 years of experience in music education. This includes teaching vocal methods and vocal pedagogy courses, instructing voice lessons and masterclasses at the university level, and providing voice lesson to students of all ages at private studios. She especially likes teaching students in the middle school age range.

Mrs. O’Rear continues to study her craft through a wide variety performances. She regularly performs with Austin Opera, One Ounce Opera, LOLA, ATX Musical Theatre Collective, Texas Performing Arts, and the Tinsel Singers. She is also a cantor and choral scholar at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
