Hello! I'm so excited to be returning to Vandegrift for a third year! I will be teaching AP Environmental Science, Environmental Systems, and Robotics Technical Applications this year.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Texas at Austin, along with a certificate in Sustainable Resource Management from San Jose State. Before entering the world of education, I worked as an Environmental Consultant in Los Angeles, where I led projects involving recycling and waste management, zero waste initiatives, community gardening, and food waste reduction. After returning to Austin, I worked as a legal assistant for an environmental law firm on cases involving water and air quality, landfill permitting, and water rights. Through my early career I saw the need for stronger environmental education within the community and returned to UT Austin to earn my teaching certificate and now here I am!
I have also been involved in the Vandegrift robotics program for the past four build seasons including serving as a faculty coach for our FRC Team, 6800 Valor, last season. Starting this year, I am excited to step into a new role as one of the ViperBots Directors! In this position I look forward to continuing to support students as they gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering practices, project planning, competition preparation, and team building, all of which students receive as a part of our program.
In my free time, I enjoy getting outdoors when the weather is nice, spending time on the lake, thrifting, crafting, renovating furniture, cooking/baking new recipes, and reading.
I'm looking forward to a great year, and please reach out if you have questions or want to get in touch!
Before school: Every day

Regarding Google Classroom
Parents and Guardians,
We will be using Google Classroom for the 2025-2026 school year. As a parent/guardian, you can be invited to join our Google Classroom in order to receive important classroom information. All you need to do is share your preferred email address with your student so it can be passed along to me OR email me directly. Then, you will receive an invitation to join our Google Classroom.
If you have previously subscribed to receive parent/guardian email summaries (from a former Google classroom teacher), you should be automatically subscribed to receive summaries. You can verify this information with your student and/or me.
What does this mean exactly? When parents/guardians join a student’s Google Classroom, they receive regular, automatic email summaries. Parents/Guardians choose the frequency of the emails—daily or weekly—and can unsubscribe at any time. Note: Daily means Monday to Friday. You won't receive email summaries on Saturdays or Sundays.
The Google Guardian Email Summaries include:
Missing work—Work not turned in when the summary was sent.
Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails).
Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers.
Note: Guardians who sign up for email summaries can’t see the Stream, Classwork, People, or Grades pages in Google Classroom.
Thanks for supporting your student and joining our Google Classroom to receive daily or weekly email summaries!
