Hello! I am Araceli Lopez, Fine Arts Dance teacher and the Star Steppers and Rubies Director at Vista Ridge High School. This is my twenty-seventh year in education. I am proud to be a charter member of Vista Ridge, where I started the VR Dance Program, the Star Steppers organization in 2003 and our Junior Varsity Dance Team, the Rubies in 2009. Before joining the Ranger family, I was director of the Running Brushy Middle School Silver Stars for 3 years and assistant director at Leander Middle School Tigerettes for one year.
After graduating from Leander High School where I was a member of the Leander Blue Belles, I went on to dance with the Tyler Junior College Apache Belles, serving as Dance Captain my second year. After Tyler, I went on to receive my Bachelors at the University of Texas. GO HORNS!
In 2015-16, I was awarded Director of the Year by the Texas Dance Educators Association.
My husband, Roger and I have been married for 25 years and are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Melayna and Acelia.
My goal as a dance educator is for the students to have fun and gain an appreciate of the art of dance, while learning the basic skills and technique in various dance styles. I am honored to share my passion for the art of dance with my students.
GO RANGERS!
