What time does school start and end?
School starts at 7:30 am and is dismissed at 2:45 pm.
What if my child has a change of dismissal?
Please call the front office or send in a handwritten note before 1:30pm to change your child's after school dismissal. A 'verbal note' from you or your child or an email will NOT be honored.
Is there anything extra my child should bring to school each day?
Yes, please be sure to pack an extra change of clothes in your child's backpack daily in case of an accident.
Also, please send a healthy snack and a pop-top style water bottle (filled)
Are there any additional school supplies my child may need for school?
Your child will use headphones for assessments, Ipad use, and listening activities daily. We recommend that you provide a set of headphones for your child's personal use. These will stay in your child's cubby. Here are some suggested headphones to purchase:
How much homework will my child have?
We ask that you read for 15 minutes nightly with your child. If you are interested in working on math skills at home, we recommend clicking our 'Math Resources' tab at the top and downloading the home connections pages.
What time does my child eat lunch?
First Grade lunch is from 10:55 - 11:25.
How can I contact my child's teacher?
Please contact your child's teacher by email, phone, or Seesaw. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response. You can find this information by clicking the teacher's name on the 'Meet the Teachers' page at the top. If you need immediate assistance, please contact the front office.
How are students graded?
We do not assess with letter grades. Students will receive a skills-based report card in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies each nine weeks.
What role can I play in my child's school day?
Parents are welcome members of our community. If you are interested in volunteering for our school, please make sure you have filled out a background check through Leander ISD. You can click here to access the link. We welcome volunteers on field day, during field trips, and class parties. Teachers may also request volunteers to help in the classroom throughout the school year.
