I’ve Made a World Changing Breakthrough!

How many meetings have you been registered for or invited to and excited about but when you click the link to join the meeting it doesn't work? ME TOO!! Countless over the last eleven months and I am certain there is no end in sight - UNLESS….

I have discovered: You can Bit.Ly them! Bit.Ly is a link management tool that allows you to shorten and customize your links. It can be any link to anything on the internet and IT WORKS FOR ZOOM LINKS!

So, how do you do it? First, go to your Zoom account (or Google Docs, etc.) and create a meeting. If your team meets regularly, you should create a Recurring Meeting with ‘No Fixed Time.’ Once you have the link copied, visit Bit.Ly (or another link management tool). You will need an account but the free version allows enough for my purposes. There are lots of account options. Once you have created your account, click ‘Create’ and paste your VERY LONG link and it will create a shortened link. Then you can customize it with a title that is easy to remember and describes your meeting.

So - here is what it might look like:

This works great for recurring meetings so that all your participants ever have to remember is your meeting name and then they just add it to bit.ly. For example, for a team meeting you might create a recurring Zoom meeting with a link like: bit.ly/CompanyNameMorningCheckin. It also works really well for your personal Zoom Room!
