Sonia Black

Originally from the East coast, Sonia Black has been in the Bay Area since 1998 and loving every minute of it! While attending Smith College in western Massachusetts, Mrs. Black had an opportunity to teach horseback riding to girls for a couple of summers and that put her on the path to become a teacher rather than a doctor.

Mrs. Black has taught 6th-8th grade math, been a Dean at Skyline High School and a math coach, supporting teachers and students at several different middle and high schools.

When she isn't geeking out on math topics, Mrs. Black is geeking out on Star Wars everything! She enjoys reading, especially science fiction and fantasy, cooking, and hanging out with her friends.
