Scotty Fung grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and is the youngest of three. He was not the type of kid who knew what he wanted to do when he grew up, building tree houses was up there with being a veterinarian and a bush pilot. Mr. Fung was not expecting to attend college after high school but after five years of moving around and trying different jobs he went back to school. He went to Lake Tahoe Community College and transferred to UC Berkeley to study Philosophy, a subject that had grabbed his interest in high school. After graduating he was employed through an outdoor survival and primitive arts school in Berkeley. They ran summer camp, home school, after school, and weekend classes but after two years he had became the Site Director there and found that he missed teaching. He made the decision to work towards his teaching credential in Foundational Mathematics and in the process he fortunately found himself here at LPS.
Mr. Fung has a wide area of interests from running, backpacking and back country snowboarding, to carpentry, sewing, and cooking, he hopes to be able to bring some of these interests with him into his new teaching career.
