Kathleen was born and raised in the Bay Area. After struggling significantly in high school, Kathleen was able to enroll in a local community college and eventually went on to transfer to a 4-yr college. Kathleen holds a BA in Economics from St. Mary’s College of CA. Soon after joining the business world, Kathleen realized her true passion involved helping young people. She pursued her Master’s from St. Mary’s and ended up graduating with a dual MA degree in School Counseling and is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.
Over the last decade, she has worked in the Berkeley and Oakland school systems. Ms. Smith is a passionate advocate for student mental health and loves to support young people. She has dedicated her career to helping students begin to see AND believe in their unlimited potential. Kathleen is a long standing Board Member and Vice Chair of the H.B. McDaniel Foundation, a California based non-profit dedicated to supporting California school counselors. In her free time, Ms. Smith loves to travel and be in nature. Being outdoors skiing, hiking, and fly fishing are some of her favorite things to do. But, she also enjoys listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.
