By supporting our youth through the transition from high-school into employment, we are supporting a more equitable community overall.
We want to keep local youth living and working in the community they grew up in — with the belief that retaining talent builds leadership capacity and stability, allowing the next generation of leaders to be homegrown.
Being Leadership-Trained and Community-Informed means our participants are encouraged to think holistically about their community and their place within it. Our program seeks to help participants with the following:
Learning to effectively navigate larger systems and the private sector + Understanding longer-term opportunities within them
Increased confidence with, and comprehension of, core leadership concepts, including soft skills & personal leadership strengths
Increased visibility as prospective employee to local organizations & municipal government via completion certificate
Engagement with community issues and community partners
Opportunities to build internships, mentorship, & employment
The structure follows a 3-part formula intended to build from self to community, using community members as partners in learning, encouraging multiple viewpoints coupled with data and diverse perspectives.
With 350+ alumni from across every industry and organization type, we bring leaders together in a cohort of community learning over 6-8 months. Our impact can be seen in the community through the work our graduates go on to do in their area of influence as well as the community impact projects each class develops.
We believe that supporting youth leaders as they begin their professional journey after graduation helps bridge talent with opportunity for professional and personal development.
