Lessons

The lessons explored every day are interactive. In following the Kamali Academy African Centered curriculum, Elders guide our warrior scholars to access information through visual, auditory, kinetic, and tactile means. This way, they can access the information in multiple ways and become more invested in the task.

Grading & Portfolio Assessment

JLA's grading system is not traditional. Our program does not support standardized testing. Scholars are assessed every day, through direct observation, check-ins and verbal or non verbal quizzes by school leaders. We support mastery-based learning as explained in the following link:
