My name is Karen Gilmour and I love teaching! I received my bachelors degree in Psychology from University of California, Berkeley and completed my multiple subject teaching credential from San Jose State University and obtained my Mild to Moderate Special Education Credential and Masters in Special Education from National University. I have spent over 18 years teaching for La Canada Unified School District and have taught kindergarten, first grade, and 2nd-6th grade reading intervention. This will be my 10th year teaching 2nd Grade.

I grew up in Palo Alto and am happy to be working at La Canada Elementary. I have a wonderful husband and three beautiful children and a boxer named Stella. My oldest daughter, Lynn is working as a counselor and English teacher. My son, Matthew is working in sales in Denver, Colorado. My youngest daughter, Lauren just graduated from USC Leventhal School of Accounting and will be working for an accounting firm in SF. All of my children went to LCE! I enjoy hiking, biking, reading, and being at the beach. Teaching is amazing and each day I feel so blessed to be able to teach your children!
