Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health
Schools play an important role in supporting students’ emotional well-being. Mental health includes how children think, feel, act, and cope with everyday life. When students feel safe, connected, and supported, they are better able to learn and grow. Families and schools work together to recognize concerns early and provide help when needed.
Common signs a student may need extra support include:
Withdrawal from friends or activities
Sudden changes in mood or behavior
Difficulty concentrating or completing schoolwork
Increased worry, sadness, or irritability
Changes in sleep or appetite
Talking about feeling hopeless or overwhelmed
If you notice any of these signs, please reach out to your child’s school counselor, teacher, or building administrator.
