Our district is committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for students with allergies, including life-threatening food, environmental, or medication allergies. Because allergic reactions can occur unexpectedly, we partner with families, healthcare providers, and school staff to implement individualized allergy plans and preventive measures. Through awareness, preparedness, and effective communication, we strive to ensure that students with allergies can participate fully and confidently in all school activities.

Food Allergies:
As many as 15 million Americans have food allergies, including approximately 6 million children. Food allergies can be potentially fatal, and there is no cure. The only way to prevent a reaction is to avoid the particular type of food.
We work closely with families, healthcare providers, and school staff to develop individualized food allergy plans, implement preventive measures, and ensure that students can safely participate in meals, snacks, and school activities. Through vigilance, education, and clear communication, we aim to minimize risks and promote the well-being of all students.
We know that many parents like to celebrate birthdays and other occasions with special treats sent to school. Therefore, we encourage parents to send non-food items such as stickers, pencils, themed erasers, or other trinkets, rather than food. In addition, as homemade treats could contain a potentially dangerous ingredient(s) that might unknowingly cause an allergic reaction, any food sent in to share must be pre-packaged and contain an ingredient label. Please give these items to your child’s teacher for distribution.
Please instruct your child to not share food with other classmates unless a teacher gives approval to do so.
If your child has a food Allergy, please contact the school clinic right away.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation. We look forward to a great school year!
