Starting September 23rd, Gusto’s Closet will reopen. At this time, we will only be accepting donations from 11:00am on Wednesdays to 2:00pm on Fridays. Every precaution, including steaming items, will be taken to maintain a safe environment for students and staff. We will not be able to accommodate any non student visitors in the physical store at this time. In accordance with the state mandate on face coverings, masks are required for all staff and student workers. In addition, staff and student workers will maintain social distancing while working in the store. At this time, student workers will be limited to seniors needing volunteer hours to meet graduation requirements.
The outdoor clothing drop will be unlocked at 11:00am on Wednesdays. It will be locked at 2:00pm on Fridays. This will allow all clothing to be isolated for at least 96 hours upon arrival before being touched by student workers. After 96 hours have passed, student workers will process donations. All students and staff will be required to wear gloves while handling donations. In addition, workers will steam sanitize all items before making them available to students and the public.
In order for donating to remain contactless, we ask that you please use the clothing drop box located at Stanbery Career Center’s rear entrance on the northwest side of the building near Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Friends and family of LCS students will be able to request items by email at gustoscloset@gmail.com, The Gusto’s Closet Facebook Page, or the request form on the Contact Gusto's Closet page. When requesting items, please indicate a pickup location within Lancaster City School District. We will deliver the items to the office at your desired school to be picked up at your convenience. Please wear your face mask and practice social distancing when picking up your requested items.
Thank you to all of our friends, colleagues, and supporters who have expressed their concern and understanding during this uncertain time.
Gusto’s Closet hopes to resume full service as soon as possible, but will continue to abide by the recommendations of local and state health officials. The situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is evolving daily. We will keep you informed of any changes to our policies.
