Who will create a digital portfolio?

A Digital Portfolio is required for all teachers K-12, including electives, involved in direct instruction. This will not apply to IAs or non-instructional personnel at this time. Click here for more!

How long do teachers have to complete their portfolio?

Teachers have a 3-year window from their hire date to complete their technology portfolio, with a minimum of 2 lessons submitted each year. Teachers may complete their technology portfolio in less than 3 years if desired.

Can a lesson be completed for credit?

Each lesson should connect with a different instructional practice (listed below). The exception would be made for a repeat lesson that uses a different tech tool that is well elevated in the SAMR model. For example, for checking for understanding, if you go from a simple Kahoot to an adaptive Google Form. You could do a maximum of two lessons like this.

Can we use division purchased software like IXL?

Required division software can be used for one of the lessons. The lesson needs to have all the components like the others (reflection, etc.)

What are the benefits for completing this?

  • a special designation as a Tech Innovator

Will this be part of an evaluation?

Yes. Performance Standard 3 (3.1, 3.6) relates to engagement and use of technology in the classroom

Who will manage this?

The building ITRT. We will store these digitally and share access to the admin team in the building. We recommend the teacher keep a paper backup if they like.

What happens after a teacher earns a Tech Innovator endorsement?

Teachers will need to submit 2 new tech lessons each year to sustain their Tech Innovator status.
