Virtual Learning Days

Lancaster County Schools offer "Virtual Learning Days" as an alternative to having to make up missed days, take away workdays, Spring Break or extend the school year. Below please find information for students at various levels.

In many cases, work will be available online and in packets. Your child's school will communicate about distribution of packets.

Elementary Information

When Lancaster County Schools announces a "Virtual Learning Day", your student will complete activities in their Learning Packet. The contents of the packet are intended to take approximately 200 minutes to complete. The packet contains a variety of activities to cover multiple subject areas. If we are unable to attend school for one day, students would would complete the activities for Day 1. If we must be out a second day, complete Day 2 activities. If we are unable to attend school for additional days, your student would continue to complete the work for those days. Upon returning to school, your student will turn in the packet for the day or days. On the day school resumes the completed work should be turned into the classroom teacher. If for some reason, the work could not be completed on the day out, then work must be completed within the number of days missed plus one day and returned to the teacher in order to receive credit. If the contents of the packet are not completed and turned in, then the student will be counted absent for the day.

Middle School Information

*some High Schools may have students complete activities on their Chromebook. In the event of Chromebook assignments, High School teachers will assign work through their Google Classroom. The work is intended to take approximately 200 minutes to complete. If we are unable to attend school for one day, students would would complete the activities for Day 1. If we must be out a second day, complete Day 2 activities. If we are unable to attend school for additional days, your student would continue to complete the work for those days. Students who are unable to complete work due to power or Internet issues, then work must be completed within the number of days missed plus one day.
