I enjoy teaching students to make meaning of what they read, how to analyze literature for a deeper understanding and how to write and research various types of essay topics so students can communicate their ideas effectively. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with family, reading and relaxing, and listening to audio books.

Class Description
In this English Language Arts Class, students will learn and practice, demonstrate reading comprehension, writing skills, listening and communication skills. The Curriculum is based on the South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards and Indicators for Grade 6, NCTE International Reading Association Standards, and the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts Grade 6. Progress monitoring of students will occur throughout informal and formal assessments of lessons.
