The Cosmetology Program is a foundational skills program designed to prepare students to qualify for licensure in South Carolina Cosmetology per SCLLR state requirements . Students receive training that follows the guidelines and regulations established by the South Carolina Labor, Licensing, and Regulation Cosmetology Board. The course of study includes Sanitation and Safety, Professionalism and Salon Management, Sciences of Cosmetology, Professional Hair Care Skills, Professional Nail Care Skills, Professional Skin Care Skills, and Unassigned Specific Needs. Instruction in chemistry, bacteriology, anatomy, and physiology of the face, head, arms, and hands is incorporated by means of theory and practical application on both mannequins and live models.
I have been in the cosmetology industry for over 20 years, 14 of those being in cosmetology education. My beginnings in the cosmetology industry started here at Lancaster Career Center and I am more than excited to share my knowledge and experience with the students. My main objective throughout the cosmetology program is to prepare students with a quality education in cosmetology that will not only prepare them for the State examination, but to be successful leaders in the industry as well. A career in cosmetology has great opportunities that expand far beyond being behind the chair. I am excited to be a part of the future of the beauty industry and ask for students full commitment to excellence as I work with the students and we share knowledge.
