Let's Celebrate our Rams!

Writers receive Recognition

Four ram writers received honorable mention recognition during See Lancaster's Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Weekend Celebration in January.  The students wrote essays entitled, "It Starts with Me" in Mrs. Mary Cunningham's Middle School 101 class.  They each were invited to ride a float during the downtown parade and to attend a ceremony at Hope on the Hill to be recognized.

How do you spell success?

Congratulations to Maci Honeycutt who won Rucker's January spelling bee.  Other students who participated by representing their teams included Lars Brunsvold, Ella Farris, Braiden Pardue, Khloe Perry, Rowen Strohmeyer, Eason Vallejos, & Besma Yingst. Maci will represent Rucker at the district spelling bee soon.

MAP GROWTH

meeting Winter MAP goals

Students showed growth on their Winter MAP tests in either reading or math, and many students met their added-value growth goals!  Those who showed any growth will receive an extra ram time (recess) as soon as the ground dries up, and those who met their added-value growth goal in either reading or math have earned a salty or sweet snack and attendance at a technology party.

Rucker is celebrating Black History Month throughout the month.  Speakers have been invited to visit with Lancaster Powershouse and Middle School 101 classes, and our morning news show is including a "Did You Know..." segment.  A special Empowerment Week and other class activities have been planned along with a schoolwide celebration for February 29, 2024. The event's theme is "Rams Honor, Lead, Serve, Inspire and Empower."

Yearbooks are now available for $35 online or via check or cash to Mrs. Hudson in the art room.
