¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana!
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of the Hispanic community. We honor the contributions of Hispanic Americans to our country, and we recommit ourselves to creating a more equitable and inclusive society for all.
This year's theme, Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation, calls on us to come together and build a stronger future for all Americans. It is a reminder that we are stronger when we are united, and that we must all work together to create a society where everyone feels welcome and respected.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, we have the opportunity to learn more about Hispanic culture and history, and to celebrate the vibrant contributions that Hispanic Americans make to our country. We can also use this time to reflect on our own role in creating a more inclusive society.
Here are a few ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in a caring way:
Learn about Hispanic culture and history. There are many resources available online and in your community to help you learn more about Hispanic culture and history. You can read books and articles, watch documentaries, and visit museums.
Support Hispanic-owned businesses. When you shop and dine at Hispanic-owned businesses, you are supporting the Hispanic community and helping to create jobs.
Volunteer your time to Hispanic-led organizations. There are many Hispanic-led organizations that are working to make a difference in their communities. Consider volunteering your time to one of these organizations or donating to their cause.
Speak out against discrimination. If you see or hear discrimination against Hispanic Americans, speak out against it. We all have a role to play in creating a more inclusive society.
Let's use this Hispanic Heritage Month to come together and build a stronger future for all Americans.
