Greetings Parents/Guardians! My name is Lloyd C. Glenn III aka "Mr. Glenn". I look forward to working with your rising 8th grader as your child's English Teacher. Since we have now transitioned back to the "new normal", my primary goals this school year are to help students discover any gaps in their learning, to prepare them for the upcoming demands of high school, and to help them become productive citizens in their communities. Understand parents, I cannot do this alone. I am a firm believer in the old African Proverb: "It takes a village to raise a child" and if we work together, I am confident our students will be ready for all that life has to offer.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and please take a moment to search through this website to learn more about me, my unique approach to teaching, and student expectations for this exciting 2023-2024 school year.
Welcome 8th Graders!
First Day: Monday, August 21, 2023
We will be utilizing a variety of classroom and online ELA platforms and resources this coming school year. Students will have a clear understanding of what they can expect from me as their teacher and what I will expect from them as rising high schoolers. My teaching methods, while structured, are also interactive, creative and spontaneous. Past students will tell you that I never miss an opportunity for a "teachable moment". Mutual Respect, Affirmation and Accountability are the foundations of my learning philosophies.
Parents/Guardians, it is important you know that I am here to support you; not replace you. The key to our children's success will be a collective effort, especially as we prepare them for high school. I look forward to working closely with you in creating an environment where failure is not an option neither inside nor outside the classroom. "IT TAKES A VILLAGE"
All important information and resources such as announcements, assignments, quizzes, and tests will be posted in GOOGLE CLASSROOM. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Thank you!
