Translation & Interpretation Information

Language support is essential to assist in the communication of school- and district-wide information and academic information between schools and parents. The language services available in LCSD are designed to provide all students and families with a comprehensive educational experience to prepare our students for opportunities in our schools, community, and beyond.

We offer translation & interpretation services that ensure meaningful language access for students and parents so they may have an active role in the student’s education. 

TRANSLATION & INTERPRETATION SERVICES

• Interpretation (Oral): We offer interpreting services for all school meetings, such as parent-teacher conferences, IEP and 504 meetings, expulsion hearings, and more. 

• Translation (Written): We offer translation services for documents into Spanish through our in-house staff. Translations are also available. Documents submitted for translation will be processed in the order received, and the typical turn-around time is within 20 days. Please know that the turn-around time may vary due to availability, the complexity of the document, and length.

• Over-the-phone Interpretation: This service is available in more than 145 languages through an over-the-phone interpreting service for simple matters not requiring an in-person interpreter. The service is available to anyone with LCSD credentials.
