Advanced Placement US History is a college-level introductory course which covers the spectrum of American history from the pre-Columbian period to present. Using chronological and thematic approaches to content, students will be exposed to extensive primary and secondary sources as well as interpretations of various historians. A variety of instructional approaches are used and students will be issued a college level textbook. Special emphasis is placed on critical reading and essay writing to help students prepare for the AP exam. This course is taught in accordance with the AP US History curriculum framework.
