Hi 4th Graders!

My name is Mrs. Yasinski, and I’m so excited to be your teacher this year! I’ve been teaching for 22 years, and 4th grade is one of my favorite grades to teach. I love seeing how much you grow and learn throughout the year.

We’re going to explore lots of fun and interesting things together — from reading great books and writing stories, to taking a journey through American history, starting with the first colonial settlements and traveling all the way to the Civil War. You’ll learn about the people, places, and events that helped shape our country—and I think you’re going to find it really exciting! My goal is to help you feel confident, curious, and ready to take on challenges (while having fun, of course!).

I'm originally from Connecticut, but moved here from Florida, and absolutely love living and working in Indian Land. When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my family. I have two grown children, a wonderful husband, and a sweet and snuggly dog! I also enjoy reading, being out in nature, traveling, and doing projects around our home. We are also big Pittsburgh Steelers fans, so you might see me wearing black and gold on game days!

I cannot wait to teach all of you this year! I have been a part of ILE for 5 years now and love that you are part of my ILE story and I am a part of yours!

I was born in NY and raised in the Hudson Valley; think colorful trees, mountains, and apple farms. I have 2 wonderful munchkins- Avri who is a 3rd grader at ILE and Aryn who is turning 4 shortly. We also have 1 aging black lab so between the dog and the kids, my husband and I stay busy. We moved to SC in 2013 and have loved every minute of it.

I taught Resource/SPED for 6 years in Greenville County and 2 years as a 5th grade Math/Science Teacher at Buford Elementary. After that, I came to ILE as a 3rd grade teacher and eventually transitioned up to 4th! I love 4th grade and love getting to focus on Math/Science! This will be my 12th year teaching and 5th year at ILE.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs and reading. Unlike Mrs. Yasinski, I have a black thumb and am allergic to football. However, I do love plants, the feeling just isn't mutual. I like to do crafty-like things and I was very adventurous once. I have skydived, repelled down cliffs, cliff jumped, as well as swam in a bioluminescent bay.
