Hello 7th grade students and parents! Welcome to the ILMS Family!
This will be my 8th year at Indian Land Middle School, my 4th year as a Special Education ELA Co-Teacher, and my 1st year as a Special Education Math Co-Teacher! I am blessed and excited to work with two of my favorite people, Ms. Giavedoni and Ms. Weitz! We have made changes to our caseloads for this school year, I will be co-teaching in both the ELA and math classes with all of my caseload students this year. This gives me the opportunity to work daily with my students to provide them with their math, reading and writing services and needs. I am beyond excited about this new adjustment and the benefits it will provide to our students!
I am passionate about reading, writing and math, as well as helping students to find their passion for learning. I believe Dr. Seuss said it best, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
As a teacher, it is truly an honor and privilege to work at ILMS with this age group - 7th and 8th grade young people are my favorite! Not only do I get the opportunity to teach students new things, watch them learn and grow but I also love to learn and grow WITH them!
I am originally from Indian Land, SC. I was born and raised here! I graduated from Indian Land High School in 1998, when the Intermediate School was the High School, and back when there were no stop lights on Charlotte Highway/521! I've been around a long time and I have always bled blue and gold Warrior Pride! I love seeing our community grow in numbers and diversity but it warms my heart that we still have that small town feel!
I earned my undergraduate degree at Augusta State University, in Augusta, Georgia (home of the Masters PGA tournament) where I majored in Telecommunications (TV and Radio Production) and minored in Child Psychology. I attended ASU from 1998-2002 where I received a full athletic scholarship for volleyball and softball.
I earned my Master's of Arts in Teaching from Francis Marion University, in Florence, South Carolina.
