Mrs. Vecchio's

3rd- 5th Grade

Welcome to Mrs. Vecchio's 3rd-5th grade classroom!

My name is Janet Vecchio and I was born on an Air Force Base in Louisiana. We lived in Alabama and Iowa before settling in upstate New York. I love to be creative and spend time with my family. I always loved school and wanted to share that love with other children so I decided to become a teacher!

I am a mother of three crazy boys who all love to read and play. We love to go swimming, play at the park and snuggle up with a good book or two. When I find some spare time, I like to spend it outside reading or inside knitting presents for friends and family.

I have been teaching Special Education for 12 years. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education. I worked in Syracuse, New York for 10 of those years with students in an urban setting. I moved to South Carolina in July of 2016 and started working at ILES in January 2017 and have loved the change it has brought to my life.

It is my goal to not only educate children academically, but also prepare them to be a self-sufficient advocate for themselves as a learner. Together, we can accomplish this goal and help prepare them to be ready for their brightest future!
