Meet the Teachers

My name is Heather McManus. I have been teaching kindergarten here at ILE for 16 years. I went to Converse College and got my certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. After teaching 2 years I went back to Winthrop to get my Master in Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

I have been married 13 years. I have 2 children. My son Myles is in 6th grade. Kallie, my daughter, just turned 7. She is in 2nd grade this year. I love spending time with my family and reading.

My name is Carol Romanelli. I grew up in Indian Land and graduated from Winthrop University in 2006. I have been married to my husband, Ryan, for 13 years and we have 7 year old twins, Luca and Emi Rose. They will be going into 2nd grade here at ILE! I love time with family, photography, and crafting. This school year will be my third at ILE. The last two years I was an Academic Support Assistant in 4th and 5th grade. This will be my first year as a Kindergarten Teaching Assistant and I am so thrilled for the opportunity to be a part of your child’s first year at ILE!

I know this year will have new and unique challenges and may not look like what you envisioned for your child’s introduction to school. However, I am committed to supporting you and your child in ways that make this a successful year full of growth and learning. I look forward to getting to know you all!!
