Making Thinking Visible
We continue to improve our academic G/T Program through the incorporation of research-based practices and materials designed to promote thinking and reasoning. This year our district’s Gifted and Talented Program is pleased to announce an affiliation with Harvard University’s Education Department. Through this affiliation, we will implement a variety of practices and strategies designed to strengthen and enhance student thinking. The program is called Making Thinking Visible (MTV) and it is an important part of Harvard’s Project Zero.
Many of our teachers have already taken part in MTV training workshops this summer and some have even attended the most recent MTV conference (along with educators from across the globe) in an effort to gain expertise in the introduction of thinking routines. Other teachers will be trained with MTV during this school year. Many of the G/T Program teachers will also be taking coursework through Harvard this year as well.
