MANDY WHITTEN

This is my 13th year teaching in the classroom. I have taught in Charlotte, NC and Rock Hill, SC. I was a NC Teaching Fellow at Appalachian State University and graduated with a BS in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Math and Science. I graduated with a Masters Degree Gifted and Talented Education from Converse College in 2020. I am certified as highly qualified to teach in North and South Carolina with Gifted and Talented Endorsement (GT).  

My goal in teaching is to lead students to THINK openly, THINK widely, THINK deeply! Our world is both grand beyond imagination and finite in detail. I love being able to discover, wonder and create with my students!

I have 6 amazing kids that make life better than I could have imagined. Four have loved being a part of the Arts Focus programs, two are excited to begin and we are so thankful to call Kershaw home. I love being with my family, reading, watching movies, enjoying music, doing crafty things and adventuring with my kids and our springer spaniel, named Annie. This summer we enjoyed many trips to McLeod's, lots of painting and went to see a Skillet show!

I am so excited to be spending the year with you and look forward to learning with you.
