Indian Land Middle School
About Me Hello! I am Mrs. Payne and will be teaching 8th grade ELA this year!  This is my seventeenth year teaching in Lancaster County and my sixth year at Indian Land Middle. I hold three endorsements-AP Literature & Composition, Gifted & Talented, and Read to Succeed. I grew up in Michigan and graduated from Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!) with a degree in English and biology education (weird combination, I know).  I am currently working on my Master of Arts in Education for School Library Media Specialist through Marshall University. I love reading YA literature and can't wait to teach and discuss books with you! It's going to be a great year!

10 Fun Facts about Mrs. Payne! I love Dunkin Refreshers and Starbucks Iced teas! I enjoy rocking out at concerts with my husband and friends. Papa Roach is my favorite band to see live! I moved to South Carolina without knowing a single person. Yellow is my favorite color. Beaches are my happy place. Go Blue! I am a huge Michigan fan! I don't like snow and cold weather. I played tennis in high school and at the club level in college. I like watching detective and murder shows. I love to read and discuss books, which is why I'm studying to become a media specialist!
