Ms. Amy Cogan

Welcome to my web site. My name is Amy Cogan, and I teach fourth grade at Harrisburg Elementary.

Let me share a little bit about myself. I have been teaching now for almost 10 years and I have loved every minute of it! What I enjoy most about teaching is the children and their love of learning. It has inspired me throughout my career to engage the students in hands-on learning by allowing the students to discover new experiences every day. I value the students' interests and focus my lessons based upon their learning needs. My classroom is a nurturing environment with structure to promote student success. I have found this helps the children to take risks, work hard, and achieve their best.

I have fulfilled my two lifelong dreams: to be a teacher and a mom. I accomplished them in that order! I have a little boy, Nash, who is seven months old. Sometimes I tell people I have 25 kids because each new school year I get 24 new family members! I can assure you that I will treat your child as I treat my own!
