About Me

I am a Lancaster native and a teaching veteran, having taught for 23 years  (15 at Buford Middle). I love 7th graders because they are just beginning to figure out who they are and what they believe in. It's a transformative age and one that I enjoy being a part of.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in English, with a minor in History, from Clemson University (GO TIGERS!) and my Masters in Teaching from Winthrop University.  I am certified in both English and History and earned my National Board in Teaching in 2008. 

My husband Chris and I have 2 boys, Riley (a junior at USC) and Brooks (an 8th grader at BMS). Most of our spare time involves traveling to soccer games and tournaments, which we love! We live in the Elgin community with our 2 dogs, Teo and Bella. I enjoy watching college football, binging Netflix & Hulu, and reading all kinds of books, especially thrillers. Traveling to different places is also something I thoroughly enjoy. That's why I love 7th grade Social Studies- because it's all about geography! I hope you will love it, too.
