About the librarian...

My name is Mary Leigh Burns. Since Kindergarten, I wanted to be a teacher. I love helping children learn!  My favorite part of my job is teaching something new to students and helping them overcome challenges.  I want students who walk through the elementary library to experience a safe and warm environment that inspires them to READ, always be respectful, be prepared, and DO THEIR BEST! It is everyone's own responsibility in how much they want to know and learn! When you come to the library, I want you to get a book that you will READ! Reading will help you increase your imagination, understand more, and become a better problem solver.  We also want to use our reading skills to be able to do fun activities with technology and create things! I look forward to the exciting times we will have in the library!
