The Alabama Governor's School is a 13-day residential program housed at Samford University that provides academic, creative, and leadership experiences for gifted rising high school seniors in Alabama.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY
Be a US Citizen
Be at least 17 years of age and not older than 23 by September 1st of the year you start college.
Must be within Marine Corps height, weight, and body fat standards
Must score a 200/300 on a Marine Corps Physical Fitness test
Take the ACT, SAT, or AFQT prior to the scholarship deadline and meet the minimum scores below;
SAT: 1000 Math and CR
ACT: 22 Composite
AFQT: 74

NROTC PROGRAM
The Marine Corps utilizes the NROTC program to prepare the future Officer Corps to meet the dynamic challenges in the next generation of technology and leadership. As part of the program, you will participate in Naval Science classes covering a variety of topics including history, science, and leadership, and you will spend your first two summers learning about the Marine Corps and Navy. In your third summer, you will spend 6 weeks attending Marine Officer Candidates in Quantico, VA.
