About Mrs. Owens

I am so excited to be your child's first-grade teacher for the 2025/26 school year! This will be my tenth year teaching first grade, and my seventh year here at LCS. I absolutely LOVE teaching first grade – it's truly the best! One of my favorite parts of being a first-grade teacher is witnessing the incredible growth each student makes in their reading journey. You will be amazed by how much your child will learn and develop from September to June. It's this remarkable progress that makes first grade so special and fills me with pride for each and every student. 

I have been happily married for 22 years, and we have three wonderful children. My oldest will be a Senior this year (bring on the tissues), my middle child is a Sophomore, and my youngest is heading into 7th grade. Family is incredibly important to me, and I cherish the time we spend together. One of our favorite family traditions is our annual beach vacation to North Carolina – it’s one of my favorite places to be! During the summer months, you can often find me in my backyard teaching swimming lessons or reading a book by the pool.
